Alexandro Bernabei to Celtic transfer path is cleared as Lanus set 'low' minimum fee

Alexandro Bernabei may have played his last game for Lanus with Celtic reportedly closing in on a transfer deal.

The Argentine left back missed his club’s game against Defensa at the weekend, and now won’t feature against Atletico Tucuman tonight either.

Media in his homeland claim he's been left out as the club await an improved offer from the Hoops after reports in Argentina said the Parkhead side had made an "insufficient bid" earlier this week.

Argentina journalists claim that a fee of between £2.5m and £3.75million should be enough for Ange Postecoglou to land the defender.

The Parkhead boss has made a left full back one of his transfer priorities this summer in order to provide competition for Scotland international Greg Taylor.

Hammarby’s Mohanad Jeahze had been strongly linked, but it appears the Scottish Premiership champions have made Bernabei their top target.

It's understood that the Lanus board expect the 21-year-old to depart for Europe sooner rather than later, and are preparing themselves for a new offer from Celtic.
