Alex Murphy makes Premier League bow as Newcastle thrash ten-man Chelsea

Republic of Ireland underage international Alex Murphy made his Premier League debut for Newcastle as the Magpies thrashed ten-man Chelsea 4-1 at St James' Park.

The Annaghdown, Co Galway native, who started his career at Galway United before moving to the Magpies last year, has been capped at Under-19 level for the Boys in Green and received his first Under-21 call-up in September.
