Alejandro Garnacho drops hint on international future as Man United reach FA Youth Cup final

Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho appears to have settled on representing Argentina after helping United book their place in the final of the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday evening.

Eleven years on from their last appearance in the final of the competition, United's youngsters secured a date against either Chelsea or Nottingham Forest with a 3-0 win over Wolves at Old Trafford. Two goals from Charlie McNeill, either side of a strike from Garnacho, sealed a comfortable semi-final triumph for the youngsters.

They will now play again at Old Trafford in the final before April 30. It will mark United's first appearance in the final of the competition since the likes of Ravel Morrison, Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard inspired a 6-3 aggregate win over Sheffield United in 2011.

Having secured a place in the final, several members of the squad took to social media to share celebratory messages and pictures. Garnacho shared one of himself alongside Marc Jurado and McNeill in the dressing room after the game.

He posted: "See you in the final fans!" along with an emoji with love hearts for eyes. As well as posting that caption, the youngster, who has scored five goals and claimed three assists on United's route to the final, displayed the respective flags of the country he, McNeill and Jurado are from.

After putting an English flag above McNeill's head and a Spanish one above Jurado's, he put the flag of Argentina above his, suggesting he has his heart set on becoming an Argentina regular following his shock inclusion in the senior team's squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
