Alejandro Garnacho sends warning ahead of Manchester United FA Youth Cup final appearance

Manchester United's teenage sensation Alejandro Garnacho has warned his side's FA Youth Cup final opponents that they'll do everything they can to get their hands on the trophy.

United have a rich history in the competition, tasting glory 10 times - more than any other team. However, their last triumph came all the way back in 2011.

The team that last won the Youth Cup was littered with stars, including Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Sam Johnstone. Garnacho will be looking to end their Youth Cup drought when the final is played before Saturday, April 30.

Having been a part of the UEFA Youth League side that got knocked out in the Round of 16, the Argentine has warned both Nottingham Forest and Chelsea that, whoever reaches the final, United will be desperate to get the job done.

“It’s been a great season so far and a very busy and intense one for me, having been involved in various competitions,” he told Manchester United's official website. “It’s a real shame about the UEFA Youth League, where we were knocked out in a penalty shoot-out in the last 16, but in the Youth Cup, we’re through to the final, and let’s see if, with a bit of luck, we can go on to win it.

“The whole team and I are going to do everything we possibly can to try and win it. We’re really enjoying the season, though, for sure.”

Garnacho only recently joined United's youth set-up having come through Atletico Madrid's academy. Arriving during the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, it's been a somewhat unusual start to his Old Trafford career.
