Aldi releases special edition gin with glitter to mark Queen's Platinum Jubilee
Aldi has released a new gin to mark the Queen's 70 years on the throne. The spirit will hit the shelves in May as a commemoration of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee.
The supermarket has launched a limited edition variant of its Infusionist Gin range. The spirit will be flavoured with strawberry and mint, and will also feature glitter in the liquid.
It will come in a patriotic red, white and blue bottle. It is set to go on sale on May 16, just in time for gin-lovers to stock up ahead of the four day bank holiday weekend from June 2 - June 5, Chronicle Live reports.

Buckingham Palace in fact has its own line of gin made using botanicals from the royal garden. The Queen herself is said to enjoy a gin and Dubonnet.
Aldi said: "It seems only right to launch a special jubilicious tipple in commemoration of the historical anniversary. Encapsulating the taste of a picture-perfect British summer, the new liqueur boasts flavours of jammy British strawberries, with a hint of mint to balance."
And it recommends that the best way to serve it is as a 'classic Jubilee G&T' with tonic, a garnish of orange and plenty of ice. Aldi’s new British Strawberry & Mint Gin Liqueur will go on sale from May 16 and the store says that - as with all its 'Specialbuys' - "once they’re gone, they’re gone".
