Aldi endorses new Wicked movie with hilarious pink-and-green post on social media
New Disney blockbuster Wicked is being released in UK cinemas today (November 22) starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Ahead of the film's release, pink-and-green has popped up everywhere.
And Aldi joined in the fun today on X. The supermarket giant wrote on X: “Promised Boss we'd do something for #WickedMovie but we sorta forgot so here you go x”, above an image of a pink prawn cocktail crisp can next to a green sour cream and onion crisp can.
Aldi is known for its controversial and bold social media campaigns, for example the copyright dispute between themselves and Marks and Spencer's regarding a Colin the Caterpillar cake.

The social media team are quick to jump on trends and they love to start a debate in the comments of posts. Some people took to the comments on Aldi's post to express their appreciation for the witty social media team.
One person commented: "That's the tweet of the week for Can I just say I love your social media team".
And while someone praised the Aldi version of Pringles and said: "These have a better crunch than a pringle. And yes, I am a pringle connoisseur," another person disagreed and wrote: "They’re horrible".
Wicked has taken the UK by storm in recent weeks and months ahead of the film’s much anticipated release, having had premieres in LA and London.
It is a movie adaptation of the beloved Broadway show of the same name and is being released as two separate films matching the play’s two parts.
Wicked tells an alternative backstory to the Wizard of Oz, giving us the untold story of the Witches of Oz and an explanation of how some of the characters came to be.
