Albion Rrahmani in emotional farewell as Rangers scouted striker waves goodbye to Rapid Bucharest

Wanted man Albion Rrahmani said goodbye to Rapid Bucharest with Rangers holding a significant interest in the £6.2m-rated striker.

The 23-year-old is heading for the exit door with former Celtic boss Neil Lennon arriving as the club's new manager. Rapid were overmatched in their Romania league table Championship section with only one win in 10 games. And now Rrahmani's emotional farewell appeared to confirm he's now set for a move. Record Sport revealed Rrahmani has been extensively scouted by Ibrox chiefs.

The Kosovo international has netted 17 goals this season and is expected to exit imminently as he said goodbye to punters in emotional scenes on Monday night. And finding a replacement will be high on Lennon's to do list as he aims to make an impact in Romania.

And Rapid owner Dan Sucu – speaking to PRO Sport – was coy over the future of the man who has also been linked with Aston Villa and Napoli. He said: “Rrahmani’s job is to score. There are quite a few talks, but none are coming close to fruition, because now is not the time for negotiations.

"Everyone is waiting for the next matches. €8M is not an amount out of place.”
