Alan Stubbs fancies Celtic as title FAVOURITES as he asks Rangers 'can you handle the pressure?'

Alan Stubbs reckons Celtic have been there, done it, and got the T-shirt as far as winning the Premiership title is concerned.

And he believes that makes them 'slight favourites' to lift the trophy again come May. It's as tight a title race as we've seen for a while in Scotland with just two points separating the Glasgow giants ahead of the final nine games of the season. Neither team look likely to run away with it - both lost at the weekend for the first time in more than five years - and it's a tough race to call.

It's currently Philippe Clement and his Rangers team who have a two-point advantage but Stubbs still fancies his old team to do the business. The 52-year-old, who won titles as a player with the Hoops in 1998 and 2001, knows what it's like to be locked into a watertight title race. And he believes Brendan Rodgers' team have the experience advantage that should just see them through.

He said: "It's on a knife edge. People will think it's just because of my ties with Celtic, but I still do think Celtic are slight favourites. Just because they've been there, seen it, and done it from an experience point of view.

"This is quite new and it's as close as Rangers have been for a long time. So it's going to be interesting to see how they deal with that pressure. It takes me back to when we were having battles ourselves with Rangers, where it was back and forth.

"We managed to get ourselves ahead at the very end. I think it's going to be very similar, this title is not going to be won until the very end. It's going to go to the last couple of games."
