Alan Shearer names Man City's advantage over Liverpool and Arsenal in the title race

Alan Shearer believes Manchester City will not be panicking in the Premier League title race, unlike Liverpool and Arsenal.

The Blues moved to within a point of Jurgen Klopp's side at the top of the table thanks to a 1-0 win at AFC Bournemouth. Pep Guardiola's side did not have it all their own way on the South Coast but scored the all-important winner midway through the first half as Phil Foden turned the ball home after Erling Haaland's shot was saved.

City have now played their game in hand over both Liverpool and Arsenal this week as the table takes shape ahead of the run-in. While the Merseyside club still leads the way, only two points separate them from the third-placed Gunners.

With the title race seemingly too close to call, Shearer was asked for his prediction while on the pundit panel for Premier League Productions. According to the former Newcastle United striker, one factor gives City the edge over their rivals.

"You’re going to be looking at one team who might not get a great result one week and the others do and you think that is their chance gone," he explained. "But I think the one good thing about City is that they’ve been there.

"They know there’s no panic. Even when they’re not playing well in games, they’ve got that belief in who and what they are and in what they do, and eventually, if they keep doing it they know it’ll work. So there’s no panic from their point of view.

"Whereas we know what’s happening to Liverpool at the end of the season with the manager leaving, for that reason, they’re under a little bit more pressure. We know what happened to Arsenal last
