Alan Shearer agrees with Harry Redknapp about Raul Jimenez after Wolves down Tottenham

The performance of Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend certainly caught the eye as Bruno Lage's men beat Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker put Wolves in control inside 20 minutes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday and that was how it ended as the visitors triumphed 2-0.

In doing so, they leapfrogged Spurs in the table and are now seventh, four points behind fourth-placed West Ham United.

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has named Jimenez in his Premier League team of the week.

Former Tottenham and Birmingham City boss Harry Redknapp did likewise, while picking two other Wolves stars too.

Goalkeeper Jose Sa and Dendoncker also made the cut for their respective displays in north London.

"Wolves were magnificent against Spurs," Redknapp told BetVictor.

"To come away with a clean sheet and 3 points from the Tottenham Hotspur stadium is a big statement, and goalkeeper Jose Sa can take credit for playing a huge part.

"He’s a great shot-stopper, and it’s impossible not to include him this week."

Redknapp added: "I can’t stop talking about how impressed I’ve been with Wolves recently.

"And it would be remiss of me not to mention their talismanic striker Raul Jimenez.

"He does all the hard work, and let me tell you when he’s not scoring goals, his movement is worth just as much as others run in behind. He’s a top player. I could watch him all day long.

"Leander Dendoncker played a huge role in what will go down as a memorable victory for Wolves away to Spurs. Himself and Raul Jimenez caused the home side all sorts of problems.

"Wolves are looking good, and with Dendocker in the engine room, you know you’ll have to work hard to get anything from them."
