Everton are in desperate need of improvements in their squad following a disastrous relegation scrap in the Premier League last season, and now a reliable source has given a behind-the-scenes update on the side’s progress in the transfer window.

Everton insider and journalist Alan Myers has responded on Twitter to questions from supporters about Everton’s intentions in the summer transfer window.

Myers gave a reassuring seven-word update in reply to a supporter’s tweet revealing: “Work is ongoing to bring players in.”

The Toffees are yet to officially announce a new signing, with James Tarkowski expected to be revealed as an Everton player when his contract expires at Burnley tomorrow, however, supporters will be excited by Myers’ update in terms of things to come.
