Alan Forrest in Celtic one liner to brother James as Hearts winger plans DVD delivery of Parkhead upset

Alan Forrest reckons he’s got big brother James’ Christmas sorted - a DVD of Hearts’ first league win at Celtic Park in 16 years.

The Celtic winger got a front row view of his sibling’s role in the Jambos’ shock 2-0 win last weekend as he sat among the home subs before a late cameo which failed to provide a late twist. For Alan the result ended a long wait for family bragging rights - and for Celtic it was the first home defeat in 52 domestic matches. All of which is ripe for a Christmas special film according to the Hearts ace. He laughed: “A DVD? I might get that one sorted!

“That’s the first time I’ve beaten Celtic so I was delighted with that. It’s usually him beating me. To be fair he took it well and said the same as well that we kind of deserved it. We were having a bit of banter after the game but it was one that he was happy for me as well. He got to watch me play and it was great for us to get the result. It was the first time we’d won there since 2007 in the league. It just highlights how difficult a place it is to go.

“You’re going into it not really expecting much because it’s a difficult place to go and in my time, I’ve played against them a few times and been on the end of heavy defeats. You know if they score early that they can hurt you all over. I was delighted to get the result but I think we deserved it the way the game went. To a man we all did our jobs well.”

Forrest insists Hearts can’t afford to follow-up their Parkhead show with a video nasty in the third v fourth battle with St Mirren in Gorgie this afternoon. With an Edinburgh derby up on Wednesday followed by Ross County and Livingston the chance is there to open a gap and cement their place in behind the Old Firm.
