Alan Brazil trolls Rangers over Ibrox fan exodus vs Liverpool as Ally McCoist admits he 'almost walked out'

Alan Brazil teased Rangers legend Ally McCoist over supporters streaming out of Ibrox following the Light Blues' crushing 7-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool on Wednesday evening.

A hat-trick from Mohamed Salah, a double from Roberto Firmino and solitary goals from Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott consigned Rangers to their worst EVER home defeat and European loss on an evening to forget under the lights - despite going 1-0 up thanks to Scott Arfield 's well-taken strike.

Fans were caught streaming out of Ibrox in their hordes once Salah made it 4-1, much to the delight of those with a Celtic allegiance who had taken pelters from Rangers fans the night before after falling to a loss against RB Leipzig to knock them out of the Champions League. That led to Brazil making a joke about Rangers fans headed to the pub early as a result of the five goals conceded in just 22 minutes.

"I meant to ask you Ally, were the pubs closing in Glasgow at 9:50pm because there were about 42,000 who bounced out?” Brazil jibed on talkSPORT.

McCoist bounced back by saying that he almost joined the 42,000 by walking outside himself - despite being a pundit BT Sport’s coverage of the game. "By the way I was nearly one myself to be honest with you.

"I did lose my voice from celebrating the first goal. I tell you my celebrations for the first goal were much bigger than the second half. Shocking. I honestly don’t know what happened. It’s indefensible, with about 20 minutes to go it’s 2-1, and then they capitulated.

"You get rid of Calvin Bassey, you get rid of Nathan Patterson, Aribo – who were excellent players for Rangers, and Balogun the centre-back to be fair, and you’ve not really replaced them."
