Agent confirms Sofyan Amrabat transfer stance amid Manchester United links

The agent of Sofyan Amrabat has claimed there are 'quite a few' teams his player would be open to joining amid Manchester United links.

Amrabat has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, with some reports going as far as to suggest a deal is all but done. While that may be jumping the gun somewhat, United are thought to be interested in the 26-year-old.

Erik ten Hag is keen to strengthen midfield and is open to a second arrival in that area, following the £60million signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea earlier this month. Ideally the Dutchman would bring in cover for Casemiro, who will turn 32 midway through next season and is a suspension risk.

Amrabat would fit the mould perfectly but United will not explore other targets until they have secured a No.9. And according to the midfielder's agent, Mahmoud El Boustati, that may see them miss out with interest aplenty.

“Quite a few clubs are interested in Sofyan,” he told Voetbal Primeur. “It is now a matter of making the right choice. He is still just a Fiorentina player and he reported to Fiorentina on Monday.

“If something interesting comes up, Sofyan is open to the step, Fiorentina too. There are two, three clubs that he is open to.

“There is interest from Saudi Arabia. But there is no concrete offer or concrete interest.”

Barcelona and Liverpool had previously been linked to Amrabat, and the latter could make a return this summer with the futures of both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson looking uncertain amid offers from Saudi
