AFC Bournemouth’s latest stance on Derby County star revealed
AFC Bournemouth are still firmly in the race to recruit Derby County captain Tom Lawrence before the end of the January window, according to The Sun reporter Alan Nixon.
The 27-year-old has been the subject of interest from numerous clubs in the top two tiers of English football in recent months, with the Daily Mail reporting back in November that the Rams were preparing to let him go for free during this month due to his astronomical wages.
A move away has failed to materialise as of yet though, with the East Midlands outfit seemingly cashing in on Graeme Shinnie instead in their administrators’ bid to both retain their best players and keep the football club afloat financially with the Rams still in the depths of administration.

This form has attracted Scott Parker’s side to his signature, although they also have other irons in the fire.
Blackpool’s Josh Bowler has recently been linked with a move to the Vitality Stadium, with The Telegraph’s John Percy reporting this morning that they are in talks with Norwich City regarding a potential loan for Todd Cantwell.
They have until tomorrow night to conclude a deal for one of the trio unless Derby decide to terminate Lawrence’s contract, leaving him free to negotiate personal terms with the Cherries.
