AFC Bournemouth make transfer approach for Leeds United and Manchester City players

Championship promotion favourites AFC Bournemouth have enquired about the possibility of bringing both Cody Drameh and Tommy Doyle to the Vitality Stadium in the summer, as per a report from Wales Online.

Both Bluebirds have been effective options for Steve Morison since their temporary arrivals in January, with Leeds United loanee Drameh proving to be a real force both going back and pushing forward as a threatening wing-back, recording three assists in 18 Championship matches.

Doyle has made a similar impact since arriving from Manchester City, recording two goals and three assists as the second-tier outfit’s most effective midfielder since the turn of the calendar year.

Both players have made an enormous impact in terms of steering the Welsh side away from the relegation zone in recent months, though Morison has admitted it’s looking unlikely that he will be able to attract of his current loanees back to the Cardiff City Stadium for next season.

Instead, Drameh and Doyle could be heading to the south coast to link up with a side that look as though they will seal their return to the Premier League at the second time of asking.

The duo could be much-needed additions at the Vitality, with right-back Ethan Laird set to return to Manchester United in the summer and Todd Cantwell’s future looking uncertain with a potential move back to Norwich City on the horizon after joining temporarily in the winter.

The Verdict:

Both players have made the step down to the second tier seamlessly since their respective moves, so it’s no surprise that they are attracting interest from elsewhere, though it remains to be seen if the Cherries can get permanent deals over the line for the duo.
