Cardiff City transfer headlines as trio post farewell statements, Gareth Bale chant rings out and duo's absence explained

Cardiff City loan players Uche Ikpeazu, Jordan Hugill and Tommy Doyle have signed off their stints with the Bluebirds will farewell messages to supporters.

All three January signings, along with Cody Drameh and Alfie Doughty, played their part in getting the south Wales side up the table and away from trouble. Doyle in particular made a marked impact at Cardiff Stadium and he thanked fans for the welcome they have him.

Doyle said: "My time @CardiffCityFC has come to an end! Thank you to all the staff, players and the fans for the constant support they have shown me and the team! I wish everybody at the club all the best for the future! Thank you."

Writing on Instagram Ikpeazu wrote: "I just want to say a big thank you to @cardiffcityfc I’m happy I had the opportunity to come and represent such a great club and city! The support from you fans has been amazing and I’m glad you appreciate my contribution within the team. Nobody knows what the future holds but I wish the club the very best for the future. Thanks again. #OleOleOleOle…"

Hugill wrote on Twitter: "Thank you to everyone for the better half of this season, You all gave me a chance and I appreciate everything! From the fans to all the staff behind the scenes and to the players.. Thank you!"

Their futures will be decided over the coming months, with Doyle likely set for another loan move somewhere higher up the Championship on in the top flight, while Hugill and Ikpeazu head back to Norwich City and Middlesbrough respectively.

Meanwhile, Morison explained post-match that Will Vaulks and Doyle were both omitted after taking knocks in training during the week.
