AEW: Huge Title Change on Dynamite

Dynamite didn’t disappoint last night with their St Patrick’s Day special and there was a huge title change in the main event.

For the second year in a row, Dr.Britt Baker D.M.D would go one-on-one with long-term rival Thunder Rosa, but this time it was for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

The last time these two women met at St. Patrick’s Day Slam, the unsanctioned match between the two won the PWI Match Of The Year for 2021, where Thunder Rosa came out as the winner.

Fast forward to last night, Rosa was going up against a completely Britt Baker. A Britt Baker who has beaten everyone, a Britt Baker who has held the championship for approximately 290 days and was also voted Women’s Wrestler of the Year in the PWI awards.

However, the luck of the Irish was about to strike twice for Rosa as the two women collided inside of a steel cage.

This match had everything, blood, steel chairs, thumbtacks but a well scouted Lockjaw attempt led to a devastating Blue Thunder Driver onto the thumbtacks which saw Baker’s era of tyranny end, and the era of the La Mera Mera begin as Thunder Rosa captured her first AEW Women’s Championship.

What we know is we will probably see the fourth chapter in one of, if the biggest AEW rivalries to date as Britt Baker does have a rematch clause to use against Rosa.

However, Baker will have to do whatever it takes to become a two-time AEW Women’s Champion because Thunder Rosa won’t be giving it up lightly.

You can watch AEW internationally on FITE TV.
