AEW and MJF war continues to escalate
MJF and AEW have been at war over the past couple of months and it seems like AEW is now retaliating to MJF’s comments on the company and Tony Khan that took place on Dynamite.
Over the past week, AEW has done everything in its power to remove any sort of affiliation that MJF has with the company following his pipebomb on Dynamite.
MJF’s comments would target talent, staff and President Tony Khan regarding the lack of respect he felt he has received over the past few months of being in AEW.
Furthermore, AEW has now removed MJF from the company website roster on AllEliteWrestling.com and removed all of his merchandise from the store.
It is still unknown whether this is work or not, but it seems as if AEW are only just getting started. Recently, MJF was removed from the company’s television intro as well as being unfollowed by the company’s Twitter account.
MJF has been pushing the buttons of AEW higher-ups for a while, constantly teasing his contract expiration in 2024, where he has talked up potentially jumping ship and following Cody Rhodes’ footsteps to the WWE. However, it was the no show at the recent Double Or Nothing fan fest that catalysed the restrictions that continue to condemn him from benefitting from the company.
This work feels rather similar to CM Punk’s infamous pipe bomb on Vince McMahon and WWE, which ended with CM Punk defeating John Cena at Money In The Bank 2011 on his “last night” to win the WWE Championship and Chicago and leave with the championship. The work led us to believe he had left with the championship and was now a free agent. It was later revealed that he had signed a new deal.
It is unknown what will transpire, work or not it has the wrestling world talking.
