Adorable toddler, 3, delights care home residents with amazing Queen outfit for Jubilee

A three-year-old girl has taken her love for the royals to the next level by dressing up as the Queen and surprising residents at care homes across Greater Manchester.

When young Isla Bates, from Wigan, was discussing the Platinum Jubilee at school, she decided she wanted to do something special to celebrate the occasion. Knowing she loves to dress up, Isla’s mum, Alex Fairhurst, suggested that they worked together to make her very own royal outfit.

Alex, who works as a recruitment lead at care home operator New Care Homes, then came up with the idea of surprising residents at care homes across the city-region ahead of next week’s Jubilee celebrations. Alex says Isla has always had an interest in the Queen thanks to the stories her grandad, who served in the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment, used to tell her.

“Isla has come into work with me a few times as she’s grown up, and loves meeting the residents and everyone on the care team,” Alex, 31, said. “We thought a mini royal visit would be a great way to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. I think the celebrations represent a great opportunity where people, both young and old, can come together and engage in some wonderful activities.”

Having come up with the idea, Alex and Isla went shopping for the perfect outfit - hitting up the likes of Childrensalon, Monsoon and River Island. Equipped with a pink coat and matching hat, alongside a beaded necklace and even a mini Corgi, the pair then visited Bridgewater Manor in Worsley, Salford to greet residents.
