Adam Idah still in a moon boot but Callum McGregor gives Celtic 'good news' - full injury state of play

Brendan Rodgers has delivered good news over skipper Callum McGregor - but he faces a wait over Adam Idah's fitness.

The Celtic skipper missed out the 3-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park but his boss is hopeful he can be involved in some capacity under the lights at Parkhead against Dundee but if not certainly in time for the Premier Sports Cup semi-final showdown with Aberdeen at Hampden. However, he faces a wait and see job over £9million striker Idah after he was on the end of a what he describes as a 'poor challenge' from Liam Gordon on Sunday afternoon.

Influential defender Cameron Carter-Vickers also tasted action after climbing off the bench as he steps up his return while Greg Taylor was another named in the matchday squad - although he never came off the bench. Speaking about the quartet to Celtic TV, Rodgers said: "We obviously got through the game yesterday with a really good performance and result. We are obviously analysing and looking at one or two of the guys that had some knocks.

"Callum [McGregor], we are just waiting to hear back. But we think that is good news with him. Adam Idah was on the end of a poor challenge. We just have to wait and see. He's still got his foot in a boot at the moment but we are hoping he has got away with that.

"Cameron Carter-Vickers came in and got some game time which was good for him. He needs to build up that match fitness and obviously Greg Taylor was on the bench. Didn't feature but it makes hopefully a lot of them available for Wednesday and we will see about one or two others."
