The shifting Celtic transfer model as pundit senses change that shows they're finally acting like a BIG club

Andy Walker senses a key change in the Celtic transfer model that shows they're acting like a BIG club at last.

The Hoops' propensity for buying low and selling high has been widely praised over the years with the likes of Kieran Tierney, Virgil van Dijk and Fraser Forster among those moving south of the border for huge profits. In recent times Matt O'Riley has followed a similar path after a £1.5million capture turned into a record breaking £25million-plus deal with Brighton. It's a system that has worked wonders for the Scottish champions and there are other examples in the current squad like Reo Hatate, Alistair Johnston and the much-talked about Nicolas Kuhn who have all been mentioned as possibilities to bank major fees down the line.

However, as Record Sport revealed, Johnston is close to agreeing a bumper new deal and Walker posed the question whether Kuhn - with 10 goals and 11 assists to his name including Champions League strikes - could be the next they tie down long-term. It's not only deals going out with the Scottish champions spending £11m to bring Arne Engels on board while they also splashed out £9m for Adam Idah to join permanently and £6m to snap up Auston Trusty amongst other deals during the summer window.

He told Go Radio: "He's been so consistent (Kuhn), he's getting a lot of goals and also laying on a lot of goals. I just wonder if Celtic's approach to their player trading model is maybe changing a wee bit. When you look at the likes of Alistair Johnston possibly signing a new contract. Can you imagine Nicolas Kuhn signing a new contract?
