Adam Idah sparks fresh Celtic transfer belief as Jota 'stands on brink' of teaming up with ex Rangers boss

Hopeful Celtic fans have received renewed belief Adam Idah is on his way back to Parkhead after he was surprisingly omitted from Norwich City's friendly with Magdeburg.

Sources close to the Canaries state it's a minor knock which has removed the Republic of Ireland international from the squad, however, those of a Celtic persuasion will hope it's the first step to bring the smash-hit loan star back to Glasgow in a permanent deal. Record Sport revealed Idah wants to join Celtic on a long-term deal after playing a starring role in securing the double during his temporary stay.

New Norwich boss Johannes Hoff Thorup has played his best poker face this summer, insisting he is relishing the chance to work with Idah despite Celtic itching to get him back. But the man who scored a stunning overhead kick in training on Thursday is not on the sidelines WITH his team-mates in action on Friday night.

Meanwhile, former Celtic standout Jota is reportedly awaiting the green light from new Al-Ittihad boss Laurent Blanc to seal a move to Turkey with Besiktas. Multiple reports in Saudi and Turkey state former Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst is driving the move for a player he watched in person during his time in Glasgow's east end.

A loan appears the most likely agreement as Besiktas have also been linked with a move to bring Rangers skipper James Tavernier to reunite with his former Ibrox boss. Jota has been a peripheral figure with Ittihad since leaving Celtic in a £25m deal in June 2023.
