'Achievable' - Bolton Wanderers summer signing talks League One aims & international ambitions

Bolton Wanderers summer signing Jack Iredale believes his new side can achieve their aims in League One this season ahead of the new campaign getting going and hopes his form for the Whites can lead to international recognition.

Wanderers are just a week away from the beginning of the new campaign. It is the second season in succession spent back in League One after a ninth placed finish in 2021/22.

Bolton are in a competitive division this season and set to be among several strong teams likely to be in the mix for promotion. It could include the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County, Barnsley, Peterborough United, MK Dons and Portsmouth, to name a few.

Iredale has seen Wanderers develop over the past few years both in League Two and in League One with old club Cambridge United. He made the switch this summer and signed a three-year deal at the Whites after departing Cambridge on a free transfer.

Having seen Wanderers from afar and how up close, he is confident Wanderers can achieve their aims this season.

He said: “We got promoted in the same season and I know the club had had a tough time but every single season, they get better and every game that we’ve played against them, they’ve got better as well when I was on the other team.

“Now I’m excited to be on this journey with the club and be on this rise. We’ve set ourselves a challenge and this season it’s all guns blazing trying to achieve that.”

“Every season is a tough season, but from the outside looking in and then from the first couple of days I’ve had at this club, it’s a challenge that I’m really excited for and I’m excited to really hit the ground running
