AC Milan star Rafael Leao confirms future stance amid Man City transfer links

AC Milan's star winger Rafael Leao has confirmed he wants to stay at the San Siro despite reported interest from Manchester City.

Several reports over the past few months have claimed Pep Guardiola is keen on the 23-year-old. It was at one stage suggested City would be hoping to swap Jack Grealish for Leao, something that is now a non-starter.

Leao has 11 goals and 12 assists so far this campaign having added to that tally in stunning fashion on Tuesday night, setting up Olivier Giroud to open the scoring with a length of the pitch dribble. In a game which saw both sides miss penalties, Napoli equalised in the dying seconds but Milan progressed 2-1 on aggregate.

Post-match, the Portuguese forward was asked by Sky Sport Italia about his future. "I want to stay here at Milan, yes — but there are some things to resolve," he admitted. "I’m still under contract for one more year, we’re in talks. I feel at home at AC Milan. I’m so, so happy to be here.

"What matters most now is that we're in the semi-finals, it's a great season and I want to continue helping the team."

City's Champions League quest continues on Wednesday as they travel to Bayern Munich. The Blues hold a 3-0 advantage over Thomas Tuchel's men after a scintillating performance at the Etihad Stadium last week. Rodri's wonder strike gave City the lead before the interval. Guardiola's team pressed on after the break with Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland sealing a comfortable win.
