AC Milan open talks over Spurs defender but must battle two Premier League clubs for him

AC Milan have opened talks with Tottenham over a potential deal for Japhet Tanganga but must battle two Premier League clubs for him, according to reports.

Tanganga made 19 appearances for Spurs last season and has also attracted interest from top-flight south coast clubs Southampton and Bournemouth.

Tottenham are open to allowing Tanganga to go out on loan following the arrival of Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona, Sky Sports are reporting.

The 23-year-old defender currently fulfils a vital homegrown player spot in Spurs’ squad and has played for England at every youth level from U16 to U21.

If he heads to AC Milan, he would join fellow Englishman Fikayo Tomori – who joined from Chelsea last year – and Tiemoue Bakayoko, on loan from the Blues.

He would also link up with former Arsenal duo Olivier Giroud and Ismael Bennacer as well as former Premier League stars Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Divock Origi.

It has been a busy transfer window for Spurs, who have secured permanent deals for Ivan Perisic, Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Fraser Forster.

Players to depart the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium include Steven Bergwijn, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jack Clarke and Tobi Omole.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte’s preseason training secrets at Tottenham have been revealed by Alessandro Del Piero, who tells Spurs players that they will ‘die all together’.

Conte is famous for his rigorous training and fitness methods and has been pushing his Tottenham squad to the limit during their tour of South Korea.

During open training at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, many players including Harry Kane and Son Heung-min collapsed on the grass after they were made to run 42 pitch lengths in 30C heat after their third training session in 24 hours.
