AC Milan 'interested' in summer move for Kyle Walker and more Man City transfer rumours

Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker is reportedly a transfer target for Serie A giants AC Milan ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to Italian source Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Paolo Maldini - the Italian club's technical director - is interested in a move for the England international at the end of the season, with Walker now into the final 14 months of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Walker, who has won four Premier League titles with the Blues, is out of contract in 2024 and it remains to be seen if the 32-year-old will sign a new deal with Pep Guardiola's side. The defender has made 28 appearances in all competitions so far this term, having missed a number of matches through injury.

The full-back joined City from Tottenham in 2017 and he has gone on to win nine major honours with the Blues. While Walker is not expected to depart in the summer, a decision on his future will have to be made in the coming months as his current deal begins to run down.

Elsewhere, Football Insider have reported Aston Villa are hopeful they will be able to complete a deal to sign City midfielder Kalvin Phillips in the summer.

The 27-year-old has struggled at the Etihad following his arrival from Leeds last year, with the England international making just 16 appearances in all competitions - with just two of those coming as a starter. The report claims Villa boss Unai Emery is eager to bolster his midfield department during the off-season and believes Phillips would improve his side.
