AC Milan and Juventus eyeing a summer move for Manchester United's Jesse Lingard

Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard is being closely tracked by Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan.

Lingard, 29, is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer and is set to leave in search of more playing time.

The winger has spent over 20 years at United, having come through the club’s academy, making over 200 appearances and winning three major trophies.

According to ESPN, both Juventus and AC Milan have registered an interest in signing Lingard on a free transfer but will face competition from a number of Premier League clubs.

In January, the winger was close to joining Newcastle United on-loan but the move was blocked by United’s interim manager Ralf Rangnick who decided to keep Lingard as another option for the run-in.

In his time with the Red Devils, he has struggled to hold down a regular starting place with his best campaign in a red shirt being 2018 when he made 33 league appearances under Jose Mourinho.

In recent seasons, Lingard has played a bit-part role but shone during a loan spell at West Ham last term when he scored nine goals in 16 games.

Lingard is one of a number of players due to leave the Manchester giants for free this summer with Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic all out of contract.

Meanwhile, incoming manager Erik ten Hag is believed to have just £50 million with which to overhaul the squad with.

This season, United sit sixth in the league and are now nearly five years without a trophy.
