Aberdeen to hammer final nail in Philippe Clement's coffin as ramshackle Rangers facing untenable scenario – Hotline

A Pittodrie powderkeg awaits on Wednesday night. But will it be Philippe Clement staring down the barrel of a gun at full-time or can Rangers find the firepower to blow apart Aberdeen’s unbeaten record?

One thing is for sure, Ibrox boss Clement is feeling the Hotline heat ahead of the trip north where defeat would see his side fall nine points behind the Dandies. Eddie Easson, Ballingry, said: “This could be the final nail in the coffin for Phil the Lip. A defeat in the Granite City will see his ramshackle team fall nine points behind the leaders. On the other hand a Rangers win opens a gap between the Dons and Celtic.”

And Scott McAdam, Glasgow, said: “If Aberdeen beat Rangers then Phil the Excuse’s head will be in a noose. But this is the great thing – Rangers can’t afford to sack him as we know they are skint. So let the magician honour his contract.” John Bruce emailed: “Aberdeen have steadily been becoming a bit of a problem for Clement – now they're a real problem. Better teams than the current Rangers one have gone to Pittodrie and dropped points – against worse Aberdeen teams. Ending up nine points behind Aberdeen in October is unthinkable for the fans – and untenable for the manager.”

But Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach, argued: “Aberdeen’s new manager has given them a bounce, it's been a nice start but there’s a long way ahead. Usually it never lasts.
