Aberdeen FC fans lob a FLARE into Eintracht Frankfurt support sparking furious 'hate f***ing Scotland' chant response

Aberdeen fans have been slammed for throwing a flare into the home crowd during their Europa Conference League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Scottish Premiership side came into the group stage clash at the Waldstadion as massive underdogs and the night in Germany got off to a nightmare start when Omar Marmoush netted from the penalty spot following a foul by Jack MacKenzie. However, there was wild scenes in the away end as Aberdeen levelled the game through Dante Polvara after sweeping counter attack.

But it was following the celebrations that the incident took place. The stadium announcer warned Dons supports against using pyrotechnics in the stands and a flare was then reportedly thrown into the home stands - sparking a raging response from the home fans. Loud whistles and booing were heard from the home end. TNT Sports reporter Archie Rhind-Tutt stated that fans chanted: “If you hate f***ing Scotland, clap your hands,” came from from the Frankfurt fans after a "lit flare" was thrown into the home end.

Commentator on TNT Sports Rory Hamilton was quick to condemn the Conference League flashpoint. He said: 'That response (the crowd booing) is because a flare was thrown from the Aberdeen fans into the home end. We do not want to see scenes like that."
