Midfielder Aaron Ramsey is heading to the World Cup after Wales produced a battling performance to see off Ukraine.

However, he put the disappointing spell in the Scottish Premiership behind him to play a key role in the 1-0 win in Cardiff.

Ukraine reached the World Cup showdown with Wales after a convincing 3-1 win over Scotland at Hampden.

However, Oleksandr Petrakov's men struggled against Ramsey and co with Gareth Bale's deflected free-kick making the difference.

Ramsey was handed the captaincy from Bale in the closing stages as they saw out the victory, completing the 90 minutes.

It means Robert Page has steered Wales to their first World Cup in 64 years, and Ramsey couldn't hold back at the end of the game in emotional scenes after the whistle.
