Aaron Ramsdale underlines Sheffield United roots with cryptic message amid Sheffield Wednesday loss

Sheffield Wednesday hearts were broken last night in the League One play-offs, as Sunderland progressed to Wembley at their expense. 

It was advantage Sunderland heading into last night’s clash after Ross Stewart’s goal in the first leg.

Lee Gregory managed to haul Wednesday level heading into the final quarter during a sustained period of pressure from Darren Moore’s side.

However, Patrick Roberts had the final say in injury time, converting Jack Clarke’s cross to send Alex Neil to Wembley.

The eyes of the footballing world were on Hillsborough last night given the magnitude of the clubs involved.

Included in that was Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, who simply tweeted the word “whoops” just as Sunderland’s place in the League One play-off final was confirmed.
