Aaron Mooy in Celtic transfer admission as star reunites with 'intimidating' Ange Postecoglou

Celtic new recruit Aaron Mooy has detailed the reason why he made the move to Parkhead as he reveals his thoughts on Ange Postecoglou.

The midfielder penned a two-year deal which sees him reunite with fellow Aussie and former Socceroos boss Postecoglou. And he insists it was a pretty easy decision that he simply couldn't turn down. Mooy admits the deal was wrapped up pretty sharpish, with the midfielder only knowing about Celtic' s interest around five or six days before putting pen to paper.

Postecoglou knows exactly what the 31-year-old can bring to his squad. But the benefit works both ways with Mooy having experience of the boss' managerial techniques, as well as what he expects from his players. And the gaffer is still how the Australian international remembers him as he describes him as "intimidating". The new Celtic star knows that the boss is a forced to be reckoned with but was someone he was keen to work with again as he aims for silverware next season.

Mooy said: "When I found out I had the opportunity to come here, it didn't take me long to say yes! I couldn’t turn it down. I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead.

“It made sense, it’s a big club. The fans are amazing, (the club) challenge for trophies. The manager. There are lots of things that make sense. It is a special club."

When asked whether or not Ange Postecoglous manages how he remembers, Mooy said: "He's still intimidating, yeah. He just has that aura about him. I don't know what to say, he's done an amazing job so far at Celtic and I'm sure he will continue to do well. He keeps you on your toes and pushes you, that's what it's like for me anyway!"
