A58 Yorkshire Street in Rochdale blocked after late night crash - latest updates

One one of the main routes through Rochdale is blocked in both directions after a crash late on Wednesday night.

The collision on the A58 Yorkshire Street was first reported by roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix at 10.47pm. It reports the road is blocked between Elliott Street and Regent Street due to an accident.

It's understood the crash has happened near the Shell Garage. Photos from the scene show all three emergency services are in attendance.

An number of police, ambulance and a fire service vehicles are blocking the road. The road, is the main thoroughfare through the northern part of the town.

Traffic is reported to be slow around the area. In an update at 11.32pm, Inrix reported: "A58 Yorkshire Street in both directions blocked due to accident between Regent Street and Elliott Street."
