A465 Heads of the Valleys road closed completely after landslip

A busy road in Merthyr Tydfil is currently closed due to a landslip. According to traffic monitoring service, Inrix, the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road is closed in both directions, with heavy traffic in the area, due to a landslip between A470's Cefn Coed roundabout and B4276 Merthyr Road in Llwydcoed.

At around 1.39pm this afternoon, South Wales Police confirmed that they were at the scene of the incident. They have warned motorists that the one lane closure between Cefn Coed and Baverstocks is expected to remain closed for some time.

The force has also advised motorists to avoid the area and use alternative routes if possible, as delays are expected in the area.
