A shamed millionaire rapist, a father-son drugs racket and a depraved pensioner amongst those locked up this week in Greater Manchester

Shamed millionaire Lawrence Jones who was convicted of drugging and raping two women, and sexually assaulting another, is amongst those who was jailed in Greater Manchester this week.

Also locked up this week was a depraved pensioner who sent thousands of pounds to the Phillippines to facilitate child abuse and a father and son who were involved in a plot to supply cocaine and cannabis.

A pensioner has been jailed for paying thousands of pounds to contacts in the Philippines to facilitate child abuse. John Tesseyman's computers were found to contain more than 70 indecent images of children - including a Filipino child.

He was also found to have made 53 payments - totalling £2,700 - to payees in the south east Asian island nation. The 73-year-old has now finally been jailed for 13 months after being convicted of four counts of making indecent photos of children.

A sentencing hearing at Preston Crown Court heard Tesseyman, from Lancashire, was identified as part of an investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA) as having made payments to a Filipino family who facilitated child abuse.

He was initially detained on suspicion of child sexual abuse offences by officers from the National Bureau of Investigation in the Philippines while visiting the country, and was later arrested again after being released and returning to his home in Carnforth. Investigating NCA officers found Tesseyman had made 53 payments, amounting to £2,700, to payees in the Philippines between March and October 2017.
