"A s*** Love Island": Family of man who had eye gouged out by Tyson Fury's dad hit out at new Netflix show

The family of the man who had an eye gouged out by Tyson Fury's father, have blasted the boxer's new 'pathetic' Netflix show. Fury's dad John features in the reality show 'At Home With The Furys', which is currently riding high on the streaming channel, The Mirror reports.

The 58-year-old, himself a former boxer, is portrayed as quietly spoken and seen brewing cups of tea in a traditional picturesque wooden gypsy caravan. But in 2011 he was sentenced to 11 years jail for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Victim Oathie Sykes, now 57, told Manchester Crown Court he believed John wanted to completely blind him in the attack on him at a car auction on the morning of July 14, 2010. "It was like he was trying to pull his finger into my brains through my socket,” he said. “I was screaming, ‘Please stop, you’re hurting me.’ ”

John, who admitted the charge, appealed for leniency telling the court “If I could give my own eye to him to get back to my children I would do – I’m begging you for my life.”

John was released after four-and-a-half years behind bars. Oathie lives with his extended family in caravans on private land in the village of Sheriff Hutton, near York, North Yorkshire.
