A level results day 2024: The well paying jobs that don't need a degree for

It's been a big day for students up and down the country opening their A level results and hoping to have achieved what is needed to head to their first choice university.

Those who have been dreaming of lecture theatres and student halls will be confirming choices or going through Clearing to confirm where they will spend the majority of the next three years.

But university isn't for everyone and, despite what some people may say, you don't need a degree to earn good money or get your dream job. There are other ways to climb up the career ladder, from apprenticeships to entry level jobs.

The Manchester Evening News has searched across various employment websites, including Indeed, and found some top paying and interesting jobs that don't require a university education, and they can pay up to £60,000, ranging from hands on work to office jobs.

The best paying job on this list is graphic designer, and those who have a keen eye to design could find themselves earning over £60,000 during their careers. For this role, experience alone is enough to show off your skills, with a portfolio showing your designs enough to gain entry to this role.

For anyone who is a numbers whiz the second highest paying job on this list may be for you and you may be surprised to learn you don't need a degree. Accountants can earn up to £56,000 a year- you will need to complete an AAT qualification but compared to the length of a university degree, will take only a year to complete.

In some professions, training can be completed throughout a person's career, if a wish to gain qualifications later in life is something you may want to achieve.
