£8m transfer eyed as Leicester City could face Leeds United battle for key target
Here’s the latest Leicester City news on Friday, June 24, 2022.
Leicester City could be heading for a transfer battle with Leeds United over reported target Charles De Ketelaere.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have been touted with a move for the Club Brugge star since January. The 21-year-old forward contributed 21 combined goals and assists in 33 league game last season, prompting reported interest from AC Milan this summer. It was recently suggested that City were ‘ready to surpass’ Milan’s €35 millon offer to help regain their position in the transfer race. However it has been reported that Leeds could be set to rival Leicester for De Ketelaere’s signature.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated that Leeds are ‘monitoring’ the Belgian international and is on a 'list' of possible replacements for Raphinha, who is reportedly valued at £65m following a bid from Arsenal. Milan are also mentioned as ‘long time’ admirers of De Ketelaere.

Leicester City could imminently make a move for Stade Rennais midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud, according to reports in France.
The 28-year-old played the full 90 minutes of both of the French side’s Europa Conference League round of 16 clashes against City last season. He scored the opening goal in the second leg to put Rennes 1-0 up, however a goal from Wesley Fofana on his return to action was enough to see Brendan Rodgers ' men make it through to the quarter-final.
Bourigeaud has just one year remaining on his deal with Rennes, and is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract, despite the club's efforts. It is believed that the midfielder will cost a fee in the region of £8 million if he is to make a summer move.
