74.3% pass accuracy, 5 aerial duels won: The Charlton Athletic man who was key v AFC Wimbledon
George Dobson has gone on to become an inspired signing for Charlton Athletic, with the midfielder having excelled since his arrival from Sunderland.
Indeed his work alongside the likes of Elliot Lee and Alex Gilbey in the engine room has been the driving force behind the club’s revival as they continue to make progress under the guidance of Johnnie Jackson.
Dobson has led by example on many occasions despite still being relatively young in comparison to some of his equally experienced teammates.
And it was the 24-year-old who shone through once again for the Addicks in their recent 3-2 victory over AFC Wimbledon in the South London Derby.
For ‘Dobbo’ it was a game against a side where he had enjoyed a very successful loan spell the season prior, with the Dons having also attempted to snare him on a permanent deal over the summer before Charlton swooped in.

Indeed he also registered one key pass throughout the 90 minutes, showcasing his ability to stride forward and influence proceedings in the final third when he is allowed room to do so.
Defensively the former Walsall captain had very little to do, with only one tackle and one interception being noted, whilst he did also take two fouls from the team as he regularly sought to disrupt Wimbledon’s attacks.
