6 Rangers stars handed Philippe Clement audition in B team but it's Rice and McCausland who issue boss reminder

A host of Rangers first-team stars have been offered the chance to make an early impression on Philippe Clement with the Ibrox B team.

The Belgian boss oversaw his first game in the dugout as the Light Blues saw off Hibs in a dominant 4-0 win - but the 49-year-old has insisted he wants to see his squad improve on their fitness levels for the remainder of the Scottish Premiership campaign. And with the Colt side in action in the UEFA Europa Conference League against Breidablik the boss has sent some of his first-team stars into the squad.

Danilo made his return from injury off the bench in the win over Hibs, but was straight back in action as the Brazilian was handed a start by David McCallum. The summer recruit was joined by Ben Davies and Leon Balogun the starting XI - with the Nigeria international captaining the young side.

Robby McCrorie started between the sticks as he looks to made a case for more game time under Clement. Adam Devine - who had been utilised by Michael Beale last term - also looked to catch the eye of the new man in the hot seat.

There was also a new role for Leon King. Having played a centre-back during his first-team appearances, he was deployed as a midfield anchor by McCallum - a role that could be utilised by Clement in the future.

King, Danilo, McCrorie and Davies would all be replaced at half-time - with the focus clearly on fitness. Balogun lasted 75 minutes of the clash.

The game at the Rangers Training Centre would end 3-2 to the visitors - and it was two youngsters that may have caught Clement's eye over the first-team regulars.
