£40m Southampton star tipped to leave St. Mary's 'in next 18 months'

Southampton ace Tino Livramento could move on from St Mary’s within the next 18 months amid links to Tottenham Hotspur, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Livramento joined Saints from Chelsea last summer and he has gained interest from Premier League rivals ahead of the summer window.

According to Football Insider, Livramento is a leading target for Tottenham and managing director Fabio Paratici is already making preliminary moves.

The report suggests Spurs have made signing a wing-back who can defend and offer a threat in the attacking third a priority.

It comes after Italian media outlet Calciomercato also revealed Manchester United have taken a keen interest in Livramento.

Southampton welcomed the 19-year-old to St Mary’s after parting with a £5million fee to do business with Chelsea, beating south coast rivals Brighton & Hove Albion to his services.

The deal saw Livramento’s previous employers include a buy-back clause which could see him return to Stamford Bridge for £40million.

However, Chelsea are reportedly unable to take advantage of that caveat in the transfer until the summer of 2023.

Jones would not be shocked if Livramento were to secure a switch away from Southampton before the 2023 summer transfer window slams shut.

While Chelsea have the advantage of a buy-back clause coming into play next summer, the transfer insider is unsure as to whether the right-back will return to west London.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “It wouldn’t surprise me if Livramento does move on in the next 18 months.

“It also wouldn’t surprise me if it wasn’t back to Chelsea and it was to another Premier League club.”
