Celtic ran riot to get their pre-season off to a flyer as the champions went goal crazy in Austria to thump third tier minnows Wiener Viktoria in the SV Bad Erlach Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou’s men will have had harder training sessions and there are stiffer tests to come - with this the first of six summer friendly games at home and abroad - but the Parkhead boss can be satisfied with the workout as his charges eased themselves back into action with a stroll in central Europe.

Postecoglou rested plenty of key men yet Hatate started despite his marathon campaign last season and he doubled Celtic’s lead. It was great play from James Forrest, who signed a new deal at the end of last season, to pick out the midfielder and Hatate picked his spot before firing home.
