£3.50 Olympic Games maize maze opens near Manchester for the school holidays

A maize maze themed around the Olympics has opened near Manchester for the school holidays.

Based at Kenyon Hall Farm in Croft, on the border of Wigan and Warrington, families are invited to navigate the winding paths finding a sprinter, gymnast, weightlifter and other Olympic heroes along the way.

There's even a winners podium at the end for that all-important photo opportunity to celebrate completing it.

The farm is a popular attraction over the summer holidays as it also hosts pick your own fruit sessions and has a play area, featuring play frames and its own tractor.

The maze takes around 20 to 30 minutes to complete and features five characters to find.

Tickets, costing £3.50, are already selling fast for the maze, with farm bosses saying customers need to book in advance online to guarantee entry.

Billed as 'the perfect summer family activity', previous mazes at the attraction - like the key worker superhero maze back in 2020 and the Enchanted Maize Maze a couple of years ago - have been a huge success.

With the farm being on the doorstep of Atherton, home to women's 800m gold medal winner Keely Hodgkinson, it's likely there will be lots of locals fully in the Olympics spirit hoping to head along to this year's event.

Owner James Bulmer said: "This year's theme is a really cool one and we've already had lots of visitors come along and give it a go. The maze is always one of our most popular events of the year."

You can buy tickets for the maze on the website here and a sunflower trail will also be opening later this month.

For the fruit picking sessions you can just turn up, except for strawberry picking, which needs to be booked in advance. Slots become
