26 notorious criminals jailed in the UK in June

A 15-year-old knife fanatic who stabbed a teenager to death and psychopathic hammer attacker who carried out his fantasy of murdering a stranger were just two of the worst offenders sent to jail in the UK in June.

Other criminals facing lengthy jail terms include a man who stabbed a young mother to death with screwdrivers and two brothers who beat a convicted paedophile to death.

A romance fraudster who conned three women out of more than £200,000 and a teenager who killed her newborn son when he was just hours old were also locked up in June.

These are some of the most shocking court cases that have been widely reported in the UK in recent weeks.

Deon Brisport will be locked up for at least 32 years for a drive-by shooting in which a victim was fatally shot twice in the right eye.

Otas Sarkus, 20, died in hospital two days after being caught in a hail of bullets in north-east London on the evening of August 18 last year. Four or five rounds were fired and a second man, also 20, was hit in the back but survived.

Following a trial at the Old Bailey, Brisport, 30, from Hackney, and Dean Adams, 32, of East Ham, were found guilty of murder and attempted murder. Brisport was jailed for life with a minimum of 32 years for the murder, and 25 years for the attempted murder to run concurrently. Adams is expected to be sentenced separately on a later date to be fixed.
