Former head coach of Zimbabwe’s, Sunday Chidzambwa, has charged the country’s senior men’s national team, Warriors, not to show Nigeria’s Super Eagles respect.

Zimbabwe will host the Super Eagles on matchday two of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The game is billed for Huye Stadium in Rwanda on 19 November 2023.

Before facing the Super Eagles, Zimbabwe will open their qualifying campaign against Rwanda on 15 November.

Looking forward to the two qualifiers Chidzambwa, who coached Zimbabwe national team from 2017 to 2019, tasked the players to focus on their own brand of football.

“We must not respect them, we must play our own type of football, fight for ninety minutes and achieve good results for the nation,” the 71-year-old was quoted on Zimbabwe Football Association X handle.

Zimbabwe’s men’s national team has never qualified for the FIFA senior World Cup.

They will not be at next year’s AFCON due to disqualification from the qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles will begin their qualifying campaign with a home game against Lesotho on November 16.
