2025 WNBA betting: Four picks for Sky vs. Fever - ESPN
The WNBA's opening weekend features a high-profile matchup as the Chicago Sky travel to Indianapolis to face the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
This game will draw major attention with two of the biggest standout rookies from 2024 (Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese) beginning their second seasons against one another. Indiana went 3-1 against Chicago last year.
The Fever had a busy offseason and currently have the second-shortest odds to win the WNBA Finals (+350), while the Sky (+5000) have the eighth-shortest odds. Indiana enters the game as a 7.5-point favorite with the total set at 168.5 points. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. ET Saturday on ABC and ESPN+.
Here are some of the bets that stand out for Saturday's matchup.
All odds are accurate as of time stamp. For the latest odds go to ESPN BET
Clark turned in one of the most remarkable rookie seasons in recent memory last year and finished it with 40.5 points, assists and rebounds (PAR) in her last eight full regular season games. She excelled against the Sky after the Olympic break averaging 41.0 PAR over the last three matchups. Expect Clark to go off in her season debut. — Snellings
Reese made her name as a rebounder, leading the league with 13.1 RPG in 32.5 MPG as a starter last season. But new Sky head coach Tyler Marsh has emphasized that her versatility can go well beyond the glass. One area of growth? Playmaking. With veterans like Courtney Vandersloot, Ariel Atkins, Kia Nurse and Rebecca Allen in the mix, Chicago's offense should run more smoothly — giving Reese more chances to create for others and go over this assist number. — Moody
There's a lot of excitement around the Fever heading into the season and Boston is a key part of Indiana's foundation
