2 Preston North End players who may be looking for a move away this summer and why

Ryan Lowe will be using the summer to continue shaping his squad in a bid to make them a more competitive force, perhaps even with one eye on the play-offs next season.

Bambo Diaby and Cameron Archer joined back in January – but he hasn’t been given a sufficient chance to build his own team as of yet and he will be hoping the summer will be his time to make big moves in the transfer market.

With Chris Kirchner reported to be interested in purchasing the Lancashire side, that potential takeover could be needed to provide Lowe with the adequate funds to make a real difference.

Although the Lilywhites’ manager will be setting his sights wider than former club Plymouth Argyle, you have to think he will be interested in recruiting one or two of his former players if given the chance to do so.

However, departures will also be needed to comply with the EFL’s profitability and sustainability rules and with at least a few current Preston players unlikely to be in their manager’s plans, there will inevitably be movement both in and out of the club.

Matthew Olosunde

The United States international first arrived at Deepdale last summer, looking set to become a first-team regular under Frankie McAvoy after making 32 league appearances for former side Rotherham United last term.

Unfortunately though, his time at his current club has been heavily affected by injuries with the full-back appearing just twice in the league during the 2021/22 campaign thus far.
