2 elite Rangers manager alternatives named as German credentials and international experience considered by Jury
Scott McDermott: They need a British manager who has knowledge of the Scottish game, understands Rangers and will be unfazed going up against Brendan Rodgers. With proper backing, why not give Barry Ferguson a chance?
Andy Newport: I still think Marco Rose is worth a conversation. Has big club experience at Dortmund, won trophies in Austria and Germany and plays a direct, attacking style of play. Crucially, he’s out of work and could start tomorrow if Rangers can get him tied down.
Scott Burns: I still think it is a time to show a bit of ambition. I would put the question to Gareth Southgate. He is a good leader and has shown he can handle high-pressure jobs. Would need the financial boat to be pushed out.
Scott M:Dundee United and Aberdeen couldn’t beat Casey’s drum right now so expect a draw at Tannadice, which should see United get into Europe with St Mirren missing out due to defeat at Celtic Park.
Andy: St Mirren have made a heroic push to get themselves into the conversation but need a result at Parkhead to put the pressure on Dundee Unite. Having seen the Hoops smash five past Aberdeen in midweek, that looks unlikely.
Scott B: Dundee United have been there all season and I expect them to get over the line. St Mirren have done well to get back in but face a big challenge on the final day.
Scott M: With St Johnstone already doomed, surely Dundee will get the result they need in Perth to be safe? But this is Scottish football so expect the unexpected.
Andy: Neither Dundee nor Ross County are heading into the final day with much form but Tony Docherty’s Dark Blues have a two point advantage and know a draw at relegated St Johnstone will be enough to keep them up. I think they have one foot on safe land.
