15 Primark stores to be upgraded as part of £100m plan including two in Greater Manchester - full list
Primark has announced its plans to upgrade more than a dozen stores, including two sites in Greater Manchester.
It comes after the budget clothing retailer said it will invest more than £100 million in its stores, including a new investment of more than £75 million in UK retail. Through this, Primark will open a brand new store in Bury St. Edmunds, Teesside Park, and Glasgow Fort.
It will also provide extensions to some stores such as London's Westfield Stratford branch. As a result, Primark is set to have 195 stores across the country by the end of the year while claiming to create 700 new jobs. In Greater Manchester the Bury and Stockport stores are among those that will be upgraded.

Kari Rodgers, UK Retail Director at Primark said: “We’ve changed a lot in the fifty years since we opened the doors on our first store in Great Britain in Derby back in 1974, but at our heart, we are still the same. We’re as committed as ever to offering the very best value on the high street and making great fashion more affordable and accessible for everyone.
"This latest investment will mean bigger and better stores, hundreds of new jobs across the country and shows our ongoing commitment to the UK high street.”
